The members of the board and Chief Executive of SDIC are as follows:

Mr James Koh Cher Siang, Chairman Mr James Koh Cher Siang is Chairman of the Housing and Development Board. A President’s Scholar, Mr Koh has extensive public sector experience having served as Commissioner of Inland Revenue and as Permanent Secretary of the Ministries of National Development, Community Development and Education. He currently sits on the boards of several listed companies.

 

Mr Ron Foo Siang Guan, Director Appointed a director on 13 January, 2006, Mr Ron Foo brings with him more than 35 years of extensive auditing, accounting and financial experience in Singapore and overseas. He has been a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers, Singapore for 22 years before retiring from active service in December 2005. Mr Foo is presently a director of SembCorp Marine Ltd, NTUC Income Insurance Co-Operative Ltd, SIA Engineering Company and a member of the Competition Appeal Board. Mr Foo has also been actively involved as a council member in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) and was awarded the ICPAS Gold Medal 2004 in recognition of his outstanding contributions and distinguished service to the accounting profession and the community. Presently he is a Fellow of ICPAS and a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Canada.

 

Mr Han Eng Juan, Director Mr Han Eng Juan has extensive experience in the banking industry, having spent 23 years in Dexia Banque Internationale A Luxembourg Singapore. He was the Sr Managing Director of Dexia BIL [Asia] Ltd and Country Head of Dexia Banque Internationale A Luxembourg Singapore Branch before being appointed Deputy Chairman of the bank's Singapore operation in 2002, a position he held until 2005. Mr Han has also served in a senior capacity in the MAS and in the former Board of Commissioners of Currency Singapore. Mr Han is a member of the Citizenship Committee of Inquiry, Treasurer of the Singapore Red Cross Society and has been awarded the Public Administration Medal [Silver].

 

Mrs Hauw-Quek Soo Hoon, Director Mrs Hauw-Quek Soo Hoon is Venture Partner, iGlobe Partners Pte Ltd.  She has extensive experience of more than 25 years in the insurance industry, during which time she held positions in AIA, Keppel Insurance and Great Eastern Life.  Mrs Hauw also served as Executive Director of Insurance Supervision, MAS and as Chairperson of the Singapore College of Insurance, Councillor of the Motor Insurance Bureau and Councillor of the Institute of Banking & Finance.  She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and a Distinguished Fellow of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.

 

Mr Law Song Keng, Director Mr Law Song Keng is a member of the board of directors of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore and the Central Provident Fund Board.  Mr Law was previously Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Overseas Assurance Corporation, a life and general insurer. A Public Service Commission Scholar, Mr Law has also served as Insurance Commissioner at MAS, President of the Life Insurance Association, President of the General Insurance Association, President of the Singapore Actuarial Society and Chairman of the Singapore Insurance Institute.

 

Mr Thean Lip Ping, Director Mr Thean Lip Ping is a consultant in the law firm of KhattarWong. His other appointments include Chairman of the Securities Industry Council, Member of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, Chairman of the Public Accountants Oversight Committee, Chairman of the Competition Appeal Board and Chairman of the Market Surveillance and Compliance Panel of National Electricity Market of Singapore. Mr Thean is a former Judge of Appeal of the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court of Singapore.

 

Mr Wong Yew Meng, Director Mr Wong Yew Meng has 34 years of extensive experience in providing auditing, accounting and investigation services in Singapore and UK. He was a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers, Singapore for 23 years before retiring in June 2008. In the course of his professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Singapore, Mr Wong helped to build up its financial services practice and was the lead partner of the practice for 13 years. Mr Wong is a Board member of the Public Utilities Board, a member of the People’s Association Board of Management and a director of Venture Corporation Limited. He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. In public service, Mr Wong has been active in various capacities, including being the former Chairman of the Health Promotion Board and former Chairman of the Singapore National Eye Centre.

 

Mr Ooi Sin Teik, Chief Executive Officer Mr Ooi Sin Teik is an experienced banker who spent 15 years at OCBC Bank. His last appointment at OCBC was Deputy President, Head External Affairs/Corporate Stewardship from 2002 to 2003. As a senior member of the bank’s Management Committee, he had oversight of strategic direction and general management of the bank. He was also a member of the bank’s risk committees. He is a Certified Public Accountant of Singapore and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (UK).
